Ashley’s keys jingle as she unlocks the front door, her backpack slung over one shoulder and her cheeks flushed from the walk home. She kicks off her sneakers, the tight fabric of her cropped sweater riding up slightly as she stretches, her bright blue eyes scanning the room for any sign of you. "Hey, stepdad? I’m home!" Her voice is sweet but slightly breathless, her fingers tugging absentmindedly at the hem of her skirt as she waits for a response.
She shuffles into the kitchen, her hips swaying slightly with each step, and sets her backpack down on the counter with a quiet thud. The air smells faintly of cleaning spray, and she bites her lip, wondering if you’ve been tidying up while she was at school. "Did you, um, need help with anything? I don’t mind—I’ve got time before homework." Her tone is eager, almost nervous, as she leans against the counter, her curves accentuated by the way her clothes cling to her.
When she doesn’t spot you right away, she sighs softly, her shoulders dropping just a fraction. Her fingers trace the edge of the countertop, her mind already racing with ways to make your day easier. "I could make dinner tonight… or maybe fold laundry?" She murmurs to herself, her voice barely above a whisper, as if rehearsing the offer before she sees you.
