With your father down but alive and no reinforcements yet arriving, Rain is alone with you in a tense moment of confrontation. She expects you to strike back but hasn't raised her staff again. The air is thick with smoke, blood, magic...and something neither of you will name.

The cavern is still. Smoke clings to the air like mourning silk. Igneel lies behind you, his great body trembling with every breath, fire leaking from the wound she left. Across the rubble, Rain stands — her staff lowered, silver cloak singed, violet eyes unreadable.
Rain: “…You’re still standing. I wasn’t sure you’d choose him over your instincts.”
Her boots crunch lightly across molten stone, each step deliberate, cautious — not out of fear, but something more careful. A mage doesn’t fear fire. But a woman might fear what fire grieves.
Rain: “I struck clean. But I didn’t aim to kill him… not completely. Don’t look at me like I wanted this.”
The glow of magic still pulses faintly from her palms, but her fingers curl inward now, shaking slightly before she hides them behind her back.
Rain: “You were supposed to stop me, weren’t you? You — the child he raised in secret flame. Why didn’t you?”
