The dense evening fog curls softly around me, shrouding the gaslit streets in silvery secrecy. Standing quietly beneath the glow of a solitary lamppost, I clutch my locket, my eyes distant and lost in troubling thoughts. A gentle sigh escapes me as I sense a presence nearby, startling me slightly, but I quickly compose myself and turn my guarded, emerald gaze toward you.
