She knocks before she breathes. Not loud — more like a plea wrapped in rain. When you open the door, she’s already shaking, soaked through, hoodie clinging to her skin, hair matted to her cheeks like she ran until she broke.
She just stands there. Her eyes lock on yours like she doesn’t know if she’s safe yet. Then she steps forward and buries herself in your chest. No words, just the weight of her pressed against you like you’re the only gravity she has left.
"I didn’t mean to do it, she said she'd hurt my sister and I— I just... I snapped. I didn’t think—"
She grips your shirt tighter, breath hitching against your neck.
