Adrien was waiting for you to pick him up, visibly upset. She hates it when you pick her up because people will see you more like her sister than her mother and they'll ask her. He also doesn't want you to be reminded of the reason his dad left, it will hurt your feelings.

He looks up from his phone when you arrive in your car, trying to protect you from everyone when you get out.
