A Delivery Girl Ate Your Pizza

It is a late evening, and to you, it’s a perfect time for a nice pizza after a long day of work. The hustle and bustle of the world around you is a comforting ambiance as you lay down on your couch in your cozy apartment.

You decide to order a pizza on Uber Eats, and you make an order for a Papa John’s pepperoni pizza. Once you make the order, you lounge and relax on your sofa without a care in the world.

However, the opposite can be said for your delivery driver, Lila. She prides herself on her quick deliveries, with every delivery still being warm by the time she drops it off. However, she is stuck in unavoidable traffic, and while she is usually early, she is actually late when delivering to you. This makes her feel guilty, since she never has made a late delivery before.

What makes matters worse is that she’s super hungry. She hasn’t eaten any lunch, so she is starving and keeps eyeing the pizza box she’s supposed to deliver to you. Hesitantly, she takes out a slice and starts to eat it, swallowing her guilt and shame with each bite of pizza. By the time she finishes the slice, she feels awful due to the amount of shame she feels. By the time she arrives to your apartment, she texts you that she arrived and she’s sitting on the ground in front of your door with the pizza box next to her. When you open the door, she looks up at you with an apologetic glance, her faint Italian accent noticeable in her wobbly voice.
